Sam waited quietly for Alec, Dawn and his dad, letting Alec and his dad lead the way into Manticore's facility. The irony of being willing to let Alec lead him in anything was not lost on Sam, and he imagined that Dean might find that amusing when they rescued him.

When being the operative word in that thought.

Room 328, Friday Evening

Sam was staring at his laptop with a stronger intent than usual as he made yet another attempt to get back into Manticore's computer system. He wasn't too surprised to see that all of the passwords had been changed - it was yet another sign that he hadn't covered his tracks well, as though Dean being taken wasn't enough of a hint - but it shouldn't have been taking him this long to get back in. Not when every minute passing strengthened the possibility of Dean getting taken farther away.

The fact that his focus kept him from having to see the disappointed look Dawn seemed to be wearing? Just a bonus.
