Sam had thought that once he and Peter had graduated, they wouldn't see a certain adorable child again until, well, she actually existed. Then Zoe had called, with unmistakable squealing in the background, and once again, Sam was glad to have a boyfriend who could teleport so they didn't have to worry about dealing with Portalocity.

"Man, we didn't even go to prom. Do you think doing, you know, typical post-prom things counts even if you're away from Fandom?" Yes, he was still trying to figure this place out. Old habits died hard.

"Of course she does. She wants another little sister or brother, right?" Sam said, grinning down at Maria.

"'Cause I'm smart. And pretty." That might have been her standard answer for many things.

"That's true," Peter said. "Luckily you got your brains from Sam."

Well that was just going to earn Sam another kiss.

And that was going to earn both of them more gagging noises. "I'm gonna play with Grace. She won't be gross. You can play too if you stop."

Maria thought about that for a second before giggling. "I guess that'd be okay. But only if I get a hug too."

Peter could take a hint. He swooped down to give Maria another hug.

Sam slipped his arms around both of them, hugging them both tightly. He could really, really get used to the island being nice like this.
